The Organisation
May Shaw Health Centre Inc. (MSHC) is an incorporated not for profit organisation. May Shaw Health Centre incorporates May Shaw Swansea, and May Shaw Aminya, Scottsdale.
Our Swansea site incorporates a 50 bed Residential Aged Care Facility, 18 independent living units, an Urgent Care Centre, 3 sub-acute beds and a variety of Home Care packages and services. Our Scottsdale site incorporates a 61 bed Residential Aged Care Facility and a variety of Home Care packages and services.

Position Purpose
The purpose of this role is to supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the maintenance services to ensure that May Shaw Health Centre Inc. adheres to legislative requirements and a high standard of maintenance and gardening services, under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor.
Operating Context
The employee is required to set and mutually agree priorities and monitor workflow in the areas of responsibility, has the authority to exercise a degree of autonomy within the key responsibilities and duties.
Any issues falling outside these areas are to be referred to the employee’s manager.
Autonomy
This position is directly responsible to their immediate manager for all aspects of service delivery for duties under their control.
Role Accountabilities
1. Act as Maintenance/Gardener according to the needs of May Shaw Health Centre. Tasks will be wide-ranging including cleaning, painting, repairs of many kinds, mowing, planting, pruning and establishing and removing garden beds as required.
2. Assist in day-to-day repairs and maintenance of all equipment used by the maintenance and recommend repair/replacement of equipment and supplies as required to the Hotel Services Coordinator.
3. Co-ordinate Preventative Maintenance Schedule and maintain, improve and adopt requirements to meet all of the building and chattel requirements and standards.
4. Store all gardening and maintenance equipment, fuels, chemicals and supplies in a safe and secure manner.
5. Ability to work with safely with Chemical as per safety requirements.
6. Test and Tag electrical equipment as per schedule and requirements for the building and organisation.
7. Maintain and ensure all maintenance requests are addressed and monitored and feedback about issues reported to Hotel Services Coordinator
8. Assist in the emergency repairs and/or requirements of any section of May Shaw Health Centre and other sites as required.
9. Implement and follow correct fire safety procedures; attend fire drills and lectures as required; assist in any emergency evacuation as required and comply with all May Shaw Health Centre’s policies and procedures.
10. Develop clear lines of communication with residents, clients, other staff and the community.
11. Display respect, empathy and understanding towards residents and clients at all times, maintain confidentiality at all times.
12. Assist in Leisure and Lifestyle activities that support residents and families within the site
13. Use all equipment, supplies and vehicles properly and economically to minimise wastage and/or abuse.
14. Work collegially and respectfully with all members of the staff and residents
